ABSTRACT ATLAS

This video documents the making of an art project commissioned by the ATLAS Experiment at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The three story tall mural was painted by international artist Josef Kristofoletti on the side of the ATLAS control room directly above the detector, near the Swiss-French border outside of Geneva. This project was inspired by the same questions that the physicists at CERN are trying to answer; where did we come from, what does it mean to be human, and what is our place in the universe. The artist worked closely on location with physicists at CERN over the course of a year to create the mural. It depicts the artist's interpretation of what the Higgs boson might look like.

The V Motion Project
This project combines the collective talents of musicians, dancers, programmers, designers and animators to create an amazing visual instrument. Creating music through motion is at the heart of this creation and uses the power of the Kinect to capture movement and translate it into music which is performed live and projected on a huge wall.
We created and designed the live visual spectacle with a music video being produced from the results. We wanted it to be clear that the technology was real and actually being played live. The interface plays a key role in illustrating the idea of the instrument and we designed it to highlight the audio being controlled by the dancer. Design elements like real time tracking and samples being drawn on as they are played all add to authenticity of the performance. The visuals are all created live and the music video is essentially a real document of the night.

Der DRITTE STREICH in der "Süßen Ecke Reloaded"

Die Schau knüpft dabei an den wuchernden Gedanken des sich Überkreuzens von Wegen verschiedenster Künstler an. Hierfür wurden mehrere Künstler eingeladen, die ihr Schaffen in dieser Ausstellungsrunde zusammenbringen - und dabei teilweise schon bestehende Installationen und Ausstellungsobjekte weiterführen. Innerhalb der nächsten vier Wochen wird in der ersten Etage der "Süßen Ecke" zudem ein Freiraum geschaffen, welcher weiteren Künstlern die Möglichkeit eröffnen wird, diese Ausstellung mit ihren Arbeiten zu bereichern. 

Die Eröffnung findet am 7. Juli um 21 Uhr in der Rathausgasse 6 statt.

Es werden Arbeiten gezeigt von Gernot Egwald Ehrsam aus Erfurt (Installation und Skulptur), von Robert Kunec (Halle, Installation), von Thomas Nicolai (Erfurt, Skulptur), von Sebastian Bartel (Skulptur), von Juliane Pöppig (Fotografie) und von Bjorn Schorr (Erfurt/Berlin, fotografische Panorama-Landschaften).

Die Ausstellung wird bis zum 3. August zu sehen sein. Geöffnet ist immer nur nachmittags nach 16 Uhr. Zur Mitte der Ausstellung, am 25. Juli, wird es ein Künstlergespräch geben.
